With over 19 years of experience, we are trusted by Christchurch businesses and organisations for ongoing catering, as well as for private events. Our family story
Cater & Co is proudly family-run by mother-daughter team Simone Watson and Margaret Tate, who bring decades of experience in the food industry.
In the 1980s, Margaret owned The Granary, a wholefoods store in Riccarton, Christchurch – truly ahead of its time in New Zealand. Growing up around quality ingredients and cooking at home from a young age sparked Simone’s lifelong passion for food, leading her to work in some of New Zealand’s top restaurants.
In 2004, the family opened a Christchurch café. Regular requests for catering soon followed, leading to the creation of Pulp Kitchen Catering (now Cater & Co). Simone’s 3 daughters have all worked in the business over the years, including Piper (pictured) who has been a Chef at Cater & Co for 4 years.

At Cater & Co we’ve created a culture where our team are like extended family, and they truly love coming to work.
Our chefs are highly skilled, creative, and passionate about what they do. One of our core values is to teach and learn from each other – a win-win that creates a fantastic environment for our team and the most delicious culinary creations for our customers.
We also have a fantastic administration and delivery team who ensure a smooth experience for our customers throughout Christchurch, from enquiry through to delivery.
