Delicious Food & Amazing Coffee
As you might have gathered, our food is made by our Cater & Co chefs (enough said!). At The Daily, you’ll find a delicious selection of savoury and sweet cabinet items – many of which are almost too pretty to eat! Open from 7am–3pm on weekdays, our cabinet creations and all-day brunch menu make The Daily on Suffolk the perfect choice for breakfast, brunch, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea or anything in between.
Our menu features popular choices such as Eggs Benedict, Big Breaky and French Toast – think the classics but done in a way that has you wondering how we make them taste SO good.
We offer a great selection of hot and cold drinks – from delicious coffee, matcha, hot chocolate and tea to juices, iced coffee, iced chocolate and more.
Then there are the sweet treats. Chances are you’ve already heard about Becky’s famous passionfruit custard square, our beautiful baby cakes or our “death-row brownie”. But we warn you: they’re too good to resist!

The Daily on Suffolk is the kind of café where we greet you (often by name!), remember your order and nothing is ever a problem. You’ll feel welcome from the minute you walk through our door, and will likely remember the experience long after you’ve left.
In a time when genuine hospitality can be hard to come by, we kind of take it to the next level because we can’t help ourselves. Whether it’s a sneaky extra marshmallow for your child, bringing you the Wi-Fi password, having our Director hold your baby so you can eat your food in peace, or accommodating your community group or meeting — these are the small moments that make our café a community.
And honestly, we have a whole lot of fun doing it!

Our Community
There’s a sense of community at The Daily on Suffolk. Our first-time visitors become regular customers, and we frequently host events, meetings and groups. From a weekly crafting group, business networking events, rest home outings, parents’ coffee groups and more – if you’re looking for the perfect space to meet, we’d love to accommodate you. Each year, we also host the community market run by the Te Aratai College business students, giving them a space to sell their creative products outside the café.
Our Facebook page has become an extension of our café community – we love to share customer stories, local business offerings or fundraising efforts (as well as beautiful food pics!), so follow along.

Out the back of our café premises, you’ll find a team of some of the most highly skilled chefs in Christchurch. They’re busy creating delicious food for The Daily on Suffolk, whilst also catering for large-scale corporate events, office meetings and celebrations across Christchurch.
With over 19 years in the catering industry, Cater & Co is proudly family-run by mother-daughter team Simone Watson and Margaret Tate, alongside Head Chef Anna Thompson. Cater & Co have built a fantastic reputation across Christchurch.
